4 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder/designated hitter J.D. Martinez entered 2020 as one of the most consistent power bats in the game, but after a drastic downturn in production during the abbreviated ‘20 campaign, he’s likely to fall around the 50-60 mark in rankings for next season. Where there lies upside in Martinez is in his past production and the fact that he’s returning to play his home games at Fenway Park next year. Whereas he was just a .163 batter with a .550 OPS away from Boston, Martinez batted .262 at home with an .801 OPS in Fenway. The .680 overall OPS that he accumulated was his lowest mark since 2013 as a member of the Astros. As meticulous as Martinez is as a hitter, he’s likely to make significant adjustments ahead of next year, even if it may not help him reclaim his former status as a Top-20 fantasy commodity.--Jesse Borek
