6 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez is out of Saturday's lineup due to rest. There is a valid justification to be skeptical of this designation since he has missed a couple games in recent weeks due to back tightness. Martinez made a great catch in Friday's game and potentially tweaked his back. The reason for his absence today may be a precautionary measure. It's doubtful that he gets tagged day-to-day with how Boston is handling it thus far, yet it shouldn't be shocking if he gets another "routine" day off in the coming days.--Kev Mahserejian - RotoBaller
