6 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez finished Thursday's game 2-for-5 with a solo home run, marking his team-leading third of the season. It's been a dreadful start to the season for Boston, as they sit at 2-6 heading into the season's second weekend. Martinez has been without a doubt the team's best player. He's the only everyday starter with over a .300 average, double-digit hits, more than one home run and he also leads the team with eight runs batted in. Boston now heads to Arizona where they will face the youthful Diamondbacks rotation. Martinez is as safe a bet as any right now. However, those around him don't seem to be on the same page.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
