4 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez went 1-for-1 with a double and two walks in a 9-4 loss to the Pirates on Sunday. It was Martinez's second extra-base hit of the spring, as he has underwhelmed so far with a .243/.293/.297 line with 13 strikeouts and three walks over 13 games. Martinez put up the worst numbers of his career last season, with a .213 average and .680 OPS with a 24.9 percent strikeout rate (his highest mark since 2017) in 54 games. Combining last year's performance with how he has looked this spring, it should be cause for some mild concern for managers, as they may need to rethink whether he will be worth his current 94 ADP.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
