4 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter/outfielder J.D. Martinez hit his first home run of the season in Monday's 8-7 loss against the Rays, as the 32-year-old went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, one RBI and one walk in the contest. Martinez took left-hander Ryan Yarbrough deep in the third inning for his first home run of the season, while snapping a three-game hitless streak in the previous series against the Blue Jays. Catcher Kevin Plawecki and infielder Jonathan Arauz each recorded three-hit performances of their own in the contest, along with a pair of runs batted in by each of them. Martinez has totaled one home run, four RBI, seven doubles, a .233 batting average and .713 OPS through 15 games, making the veteran power hitter worth owning across all fantasy formats moving forward.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
