J.D. Martinez Resting Sunday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder/designated hitter J.D. Martinez is not in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Oakland Athletics. Martinez will get a regular day of rest in the series finale after starting seven straight games since May 29. The four-time All-Star slugger has been phenomenal for fantasy managers in 2022, slashing .353/.415/.543 with a .959 OPS, five home runs, 23 RBI and 33 runs scored in 195 plate appearances over 44 games played. He's a no-brainer must-start when he's in the lineup. Jarren Duran will be the DH and will hit leadoff, while Franchy Cordero is in right field and is batting seventh on Sunday against A's right-hander Frankie Montas. Duran went 2-for-5 in his second game for Boston on Saturday, and he'll be an intriguing DFS play with upside in the leadoff spot.
