J.D. Martinez Scratched From Lineup Again
3 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez (back tightness) has been removed from the team's starting lineup against the White Sox on Saturday. Martinez was a late scratch on Friday and is now a late scratch on Saturday, too. Travis Shaw will DH in his place and bat eighth opposite Chicago starter Dylan Cease. Martinez has displayed a huge bounce-back season this year, slashing .286/.349/.517 with 25 homers, 89 RBI, 50 walks, and 133 strikeouts. The Red Sox and fantasy managers both hope the 34-year-old slugger gets healthy and returns to the lineup soon.
