J.K. Dobbins Sees Role Dialed Back Upon Mark Ingram's Return
4 years agoBaltimore Ravens rookie running back J.K. Dobbins received just five carries and made one reception in Sunday's loss to New England, a significant step back in his role from where he sat while Mark Ingram II was absent due to injury. While Dobbins has yet to ascend to the fervor around his fantasy stock that emanated from his two-touchdown debut performance back in Week 1, he received double-digit carries during Weeks 8 and 9, even logging his first 100-yard rushing performance. But with Ingram active Sunday -- along with the continued running threat of quarterback Lamar Jackson -- Dobbins was lost in the shuffle as all three backs, including Gus Edwards, effectively cancelled each other out. Those in season-long keeper formats may be able to hold onto a bench spot for Dobbins with an eye toward 2021, but at this stage, the Ravens backfield situation is approaching untenable for any of the trio, specifically Dobbins.
