2 years agoTampa Bay Rays skipper Kevin Cash said on Monday that relief pitcher J.P. Feyereisen (shoulder) was "feeling better" but still sore enough that he's only receiving treatment. The 29-year-old right-hander said he pitched through shoulder pain for a few weeks prior to landing on the injured list on June 3. The Rays initially said Feyereisen was dealing with a bone bruise, but he's since been diagnosed with a right shoulder impingement. The good news is that he's not dealing with any structural damage, although he's still unlikely to be ready to return until at least early July since he has yet to resume throwing. Feyereisen had one save and hadn't allowed a single earned run in 24 1/3 innings while striking out 25 and walking five before his injury.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
