2 years agoTampa Bay Rays relief pitcher J.P. Feyereisen (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement on Friday. Feyereisen said that the shoulder had been bugging him for a few weeks and that Thursday's appearance was his "breaking point." He had an MRI Friday morning, and manager Kevin Cash is hopeful that this will be a short IL stint. Feyereisen has been tremendous this year, as he has yet to allow an earned run in 24 1/3 innings. He had just earned his first save of the season on Sunday, and the Rays seemed to be trusting him more in the later innings, so the timing of this injury is especially frustrating.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
