3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto could see increased playing time at first base over the final weeks of the season, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com. The move is being made for several reasons according to Zolecki, including using Realmuto as a part-time replacement for Rhys Hoskins now that he's done for the year. This move is also being considered to help reduce wear and tear on Realmuto, who reported that he has been dealing with shoulder soreness all season long. It seems possible that Realmuto could end up getting first base eligibility before the end of the year, and that he might be in the lineup a couple more games than he otherwise would have been. It won't be a huge boost in value for Realmuto, but it'll still be a nice little bonus for managers who have him rostered.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
