J.T. Realmuto Draws Start At First Base Wednesday

Realmuto has been shifted to first base for Wednesday’s contest versus Washington and right-hander Erick Fedde, as he continues to work his way back from a hip ailment that could have derailed his season. After coming up lame during Tuesday’s doubleheader while running out a hit attempt, the move to keep Realmuto from squatting behind the plate doesn’t come as a surprise, although the start at first marks the first occasion of 2020. The preeminent DFS offensive catcher enters play Wednesday banged up, but he has hit .360 over his last seven games.
