J.T. Realmuto Goes Yard In Loss To Nationals
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Nationals on Thursday. Realmuto's blast was the only run Philadelphia could muster off of starter Max Scherzer in his last game for Washington. Realmuto has been a disappointment this season relative to his lofty expectations, but the Philly backstop has been solid all-around with a .260 batting average, 11 homers, 40 RBI, 38 runs, and six stolen bases. He's got a career-high 46% hard-hit rate and has above-average plate discipline with a 0.45 BB/K, so he should be expected to continue this level of production. He's got good matchups this weekend as the Phillies will be in Pittsburgh for a three-game set.
