J.T. Realmuto Picks Up A Pair Of Hits In Loss
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto went 2-for-4 with a run scored in an 8-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. Realmuto singled and scored off of a Bryce Harper double in the top of the sixth inning. He picked up another single in the contest as well. He now has two multi-hit performances in the last three games but is slashing just .207/.281/.379 over the last 15 contests. He's been solid this season but hasn't quite lived up to his lofty fantasy expectations. He's got a .264 batting average and .805 OPS to go along with eight home runs, 31 RBI, and four stolen bases over 220 at-bats this year. Those numbers were good enough to put him in the All-Star game but are underwhelming considering he was the consensus number one catcher in fantasy drafts last spring. He'll look to finish the first half on a strong note as the Phillies round out their series with the Cubs on Thursday before visiting the Red Sox for a three-game set this weekend.
