Jack Flaherty Activated From Injured List, Will Start Friday
3 years agoThe St. Louis Cardinals activated starting pitcher Jack Flaherty (oblique) from the 60-day injured list on Friday. Fellow pitcher Wade LeBlanc was placed on the 10-day injured list to make room on the active roster. The Cardinals also announced that Flaherty will start against the Kansas City Royals tonight. In 11 starts spanning 62 innings this season, Flaherty has pitched to a 2.90 ERA, a 3.75 FIP, 67 strikeouts, and 20 walks. The 25-year-old didn't throw more than four innings in any of his three rehab starts so, speculatively speaking, he might not be a candidate to pitch deep into the game against the Royals on Friday. That being said, he could certainly help fantasy managers in the innings he does pitch against a Kansas City lineup that has scored the sixth-fewest runs in the league.
