Jack Flaherty Expected To Return Against Pittsburgh
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jack Flaherty (oblique) could join the starting rotation for the upcoming series against the Pittsburgh Pirates next week. The 25-year-old has been sidelined since May 31 with an oblique strain. "I'm going to pitch in Pittsburgh," said Flaherty. "I feel healthy today." The Cardinals ace owned an (8-1) record along with a 2.90 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and a 67:20 K: BB across 62 innings before landing on the injured list. He was up to 75 pitches in his previous rehab outing and will most likely be on a pitch count in his first start back. Fantasy managers who stashed Flaherty for this long will get a boost for the final stretch of the regular season.
