3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list. The 25-year-old left Monday's start against the Dodgers after only five innings of work with tightness in his left side. Skipper Mike Shildt described the ailment as "significant," which would appear to indicate that his absence will likely extend well beyond his current designation. Flaherty is having a terrific season, sporting an 8-1 record to go along with 67 strikeouts and a 2.90 ERA, so this news is rather unfortunate for fantasy managers.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
