3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty (shoulder) said "the small tear" in his right shoulder is not "new" and that he has "pitched with it for years." Flaherty said the platelet-rich plasma injection in his shoulder was for inflammation. Regardless, he has been ruled out for Opening Day with the arm issue and has been shut down from throwing for two weeks. It doesn't really help fantasy managers that the 26-year-old has pitched through his shoulder issue before, and we don't have a firm timetable for when he might make his 2022 debut. It brings an added element of risk for Flaherty, but when healthy, he can be a solid SP2 for fantasy managers. The right-hander had a 3.22 ERA and 1.06 WHIP last season with 85 K's and 26 walks in 78 1/3 innings over 17 appearances (15 starts).--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
