Jack Mayfield Goes Deep Monday
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels infielder Jack Mayfield hit a fourth-inning grand slam against the New York Yankees in Monday's 8-7 victory. He finished the day 1-for-4 with four RBI and one run scored. The home run was his ninth of the season, and he is now slashing .212/.259/.423 with 24 RBI, 18 runs, and one stolen base over 57 games. Mayfield should be left on the waiver wire in most leagues, unable to provide even a decent batting average or OBP. However, he has started at shortstop three of the past four games, and if that continues, he can be a deep league option to provide some power, albeit hurting the other categories.
