Jacob deGrom Being Activated From Disabled List Sunday

6 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (elbow) is returning to the team's rotation this Sunday to start against the Phillies. deGrom hyperextended his elbow two weeks ago in his start against the Braves and was not expected to miss too much time. The Mets erred on the side of caution to allow deGrom ample time to recover, a great sign that the Mets have learned from their mistakes. In previous years they would have thrown their recently injured ace out there without a second thought, but this will give him a chance to build on his strong start to the 2018 season. He has a 1.57 ERA in 43 1/3 innings this season, allowing 43 baserunners while striking out 54.--Kev Mahserejian - RotoBaller
