4 years agoNew York Mets ace Jacob deGrom coasted through his start on Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays in the Mets' 18-1 rout en route to his fourth win of the season. deGrom went six innings and allowed just three hits, two walks, and one earned run, while striking out nine. On the season, deGrom (4-1) now holds a 1.67 ERA and an absurd 0.87 WHIP to go with 79 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched as he makes a bid to win his third-straight National League Cy Young award. deGrom remains an elite, must-start option in all formats regardless of opponent. He is scheduled to next face the Phillies' potent lineup on Thursday.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
