Jacob deGrom Dominates on Wednesday
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom absolutely dominated the Miami Marlins over seven innings of work on Wednesday in the Mets' 5-4 win. deGrom allowed only two hits, one run, and walked two while striking out 14 in his seven innings of work. deGrom, as per usual, did not factor into the decision when the Mets' bullpen promptly blew a three-run lead after deGrom left the contest. On the season, deGrom (2-0) owns a 1.80 ERA, an 0.83 WHIP, and 49 strikeouts in 35 innings pitched as he makes a bid to win his third-straight National League Cy Young award. deGrom remains an elite, must-start option in all formats. Though the Mets have not confirmed their starting rotation, it appears deGrom will next face the Orioles on Tuesday in another excellent matchup.
