4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (back) said he would like to throw 60-65 pitches in a Sunday night exhibition against the Yankees, with the goal of throwing 80-85 pitches on Opening Day. deGrom is also scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Friday. Although his MRI didn't reveal anything concerning on Wednesday, the Mets still consider him day-to-day after he left an intrasquad outing early on Tuesday with back stiffness. If deGrom gets the green light to start on Opening Day, he will certainly be on a pitch count. He also could be limited in terms of innings at the outset of the 2020 season. That said, deGrom remains an elite fantasy ace otherwise.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
