6 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom has been pitching out of his mind all year long, so it came as a shock when he allowed three earned runs in each of his last two starts -- coming against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Miami Marlins. deGrom will look to get back to his one-run-or-less ways on Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays at Citi Field. The Rays offense ranks 26th in the league with only 334 runs scored this year, and their team OPS of .703 ranks 23rd. It’s an offense that deGrom should be able to dominate (although Miami’s offense is worse). Regardless of the matchup, deGrom is obviously a safe bet no matter who the opponent is.--John Smith
