Jacob deGrom Might Miss Rest Of The Season
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (elbow) might be shut down for the remainder of the season, according to Pat Ragazzo of Sports Illustrated. Ragnazzo reports that with the Mets' playoff chances starting to fade, the team is leaning towards shutting deGrom down for the remainder of the season while he continues to deal with right elbow inflammation. deGrom has been shut down since the All-Star break, going 7-2 with a 1.08 ERA, 0.554 WHIP and 45.1 percent strikeout rate over 92 innings in the first half of the season. While it's not official yet, managers should start preparing for the fact that deGrom might not pitch again in 2021.
