Jacob deGrom Not Yet Slotted Into Mets Spring Rotation
5 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom will continue to face hitters in live batting practice this week, but is not yet slotted into the Mets starting spring training rotation. The Mets are simply taking it easy getting their ace ramped up for another season in the trenches. deGrom dominated once again for the Mets in 2019, posting an 11-8 record, 2.43 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 255 strikeouts in 204 innings pitched en route to a second straight National League Cy Young award. deGrom has pitched three consecutive seasons with at least 200 IP and is locked in as a fantasy ace. He is currently the second pitcher off of most boards (after Gerrit Cole) with an average draft position of 8.4. deGrom is a lock-down SP1 in all formats who can provide 200 K's and league-leading ratios.
