4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom has had his first start of 2021 pushed back, as the Mets-Nationals Opening Day game has been postponed due to COVID-19 protocols within the Nationals organization, according to The Athletic's Jayson Stark. The Nationals had made several moves on Wednesday due to a positive COVID-19 test and players entering quarantine due to contact tracing, but it appears like the issue has grown enough to warrant the postponement. A statement from MLB said that the game will not be made up on Friday, and they will continue to monitor the situation. deGrom and all other Mets should be taken out of daily lineups for Thursday, and managers should continue to check for updates as this could potentially affect the other games in the series this weekend.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
