4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (side) played catch on the field Friday. deGrom was placed on the 10-day injured list with tightness in his right side on Tuesday, though he has been able to throw, which seems to indicate that it will be a short stint on the sidelines, a sentiment the Mets have echoed. Still, there's no official date for his return- and there likely won't be until he participates in a bullpen session or a simulated game. deGrom's return would be excellent news for fantasy managers, as he has pitched to a 0.68 ERA and 1.03 FIP with a 65:7 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 40 innings pitched this year.--Tim Capurso
