Jacob deGrom Progressing As Planned
2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (shoulder) won't travel with the team on their 10-game road trip to Southern California, but manager Buck Showalter said deGrom is progressing as planned. deGrom remains in New York and has yet to get back on a mound. The 33-year-old right-hander extended his throwing distance to 135 feet this week and has felt normal, which is great news for fantasy managers that have been patiently waiting for the two-time Cy Young winner to make his 2022 season debut. deGrom still has some hurdles to overcome while rehabbing from a stress reaction on his scapula, but he's getting closer. There remains no timetable for him to return from the 60-day injured list, but he'll likely need anywhere from three to five minor league rehab starts before he's activated.
