Jacob deGrom Shut Down For Up To Four Weeks
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom's (shoulder) MRI exam revealed a stress reaction on his scapula that has caused inflammation in his right shoulder. The immediate prescription is for deGrom to stop throwing for up to four weeks before more tests are done. The two-time Cy Young winner felt tightness in his shoulder while throwing on Thursday and was scratched from his spring start on Friday. He'll obviously miss at least the first month of the season, and the talented right-hander may not make his season debut until sometime in June. Those that already selected deGrom as their fantasy ace with an early round pick can do nothing more than stash him and hope for a quick return. In his absence, Tylor Megill could join the rotation to begin the season.
