Jacob DeGrom Strikes Out 12
7 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom is off to a great start this season but had perhaps his best outing yet on Monday against the Washington Nationals. deGrom allowed three earned runs on six hits and one walk across 7 1/3 innings pitched, striking out a season high of 12 in the process. As crazy as this sounds, deGrom pitched much better than his final stat line indicates. The Mets bullpen allowed two inherited runners belonging to deGrom to score in the eighth inning, and furthermore blew a 6-1 lead in the process en route to a brutal 8-6 loss. Regardless, deGrom was locked in and that’s obviously great news for fantasy owners moving forward. He’s currently slated to take the hill again in another divisional showdown on Saturday, this time against the Braves in Atlanta.
