6 years agoA common theme for New York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom this season has been to pitch very well, leave with the lead, then have his bullpen blow it for him. On Wednesday against the Atlanta Braves, that wasn’t the case as deGrom, despite still pitching great, did all the work himself in taking the loss. He allowed only one run and pitched seven innings in the 2-0 loss, striking out seven without issuing a walk. It’s just another day of deGrom being deGrom and the Mets being the Mets. He’ll next take the hill in Colorado against the Rockies on Monday. You’re obviously starting him and his 1.55 ERA despite the outing taking place at Coors Field.--John Smith
