4 years agoNew York Mets manager Luis Rojas reported that starting pitcher Jacob deGrom hit 99 mph in his bullpen session on Tuesday. Incredibly, it already sounds like deGrom is in midseason form. deGrom followed up his second consecutive National League Cy Young award season in 2019 by posting another gem in 2020. He finished 2020 with a 4-2 record, a 2.38 ERA, a 0.956 WHIP, and a 104:18 K:BB in 68 innings pitched. Heading into 2021, deGrom remains a matchup-proof fantasy ace. deGrom will again be a safe bet for elite strikeout totals and league-leading ratios. Win totals, which have alluded deGrom the past few years, may even see a boost in 2021 with the Mets having bolstered their lineup with the addition of, among others, Francisco Lindor and James McCann.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
