4 years agoWith the New York Mets' weekend series against Washington cancelled due to positive COVID-19 cases on the Nationals' roster, the Mets' first game of the 2021 campaign will be on Monday, April 5 at Philadelphia. Jacob deGrom will get the start against the Phillies for the Mets' "new" Opening Day. deGrom's second start of the season will likely be at home on Saturday, April 10 against the Marlins, giving him two starts in the first full week of the 2021 MLB season. The two-time Cy Young winner had a 2.38 ERA and 104 strikeouts in 68 innings in the shortened 2020 season. deGrom is showing no decline in his game and is a matchup-proof ace who should be active on all rosters once the Mets' season finally gets underway.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
