Jacob deGrom To Throw Live BP Tuesday
2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (shoulder) will throw a live batting practice session on Tuesday at Port St. Lucie, and it will be considered his fourth minor league rehab start. deGrom stretched out to 42 pitches over four innings in his third rehab start for Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday, striking out four while allowing an unearned run. Barring any setbacks on Tuesday, it's possible that the Mets will clear the 34-year-old two-time Cy Young winner to make his season debut when the team begins the second half of the season. The Mets have discussed either July 24 or July 26 as a possible return date for deGrom. Fantasy managers are chomping at the bit to get the veteran right-hander into their starting lineups.
