Jacob deGrom Will Not Pitch In Sunday Exhibition
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (back) will not start against the Yankees on Sunday. Mets manager Luis Rojas stated that deGrom will instead throw a 50-60 pitch bullpen session back at CitiField. Despite this news, it appears that deGrom still remains on track to start Opening Day against the Braves. Assuming deGrom has no setbacks and gets the green light to pitch Opening Day, DFS players should take note that he will likely be placed on a pitch count of about 80-85 pitches. Redraft owners should also be aware that deGrom could be limited in terms of innings at the outset of the 2020 season due to the Mets taking a cautious approach. Notwithstanding what appears to be a minor back issue, deGrom remains an elite fantasy ace.
