Jacob deGrom With Quality Start Against Boston
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom went six innings throwing 88 pitches against the Red Sox on Wednesday in the Mets 6-5 loss. deGrom allowed only three hits, one walk, and two earned runs while striking out four. He did not factor into the decision. In the Mets' season opener, deGrom threw just 72 pitches against Atlanta. With the outing on Wednesday, it shows that deGrom is continuing to ramp up his pitch count coming off of a back tightness issue he had during camp. deGrom will next face off against the Braves on the road, who he shut out across five innings on Opening Day. He should have no pitch count restrictions for his next start.
