Jacob deGrom's Next Rehab Start Coming Friday
2 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (shoulder) will make his next minor league rehab start with Single-A St. Lucie on Friday at Daytona Beach. deGrom will be going on regular rest and is expected to throw around 40 pitches. The Mets will try to keep him on a five-day rest schedule in the early portion of his rehab assignment, and he's expected to make anywhere from three to five starts before rejoining the Mets rotation for his season debut. The two-time Cy Young winner probably won't be back until the start of the second half of the season, but he looked good in his first rehab start for St. Lucie on Sunday, when he struck out five of the six hitters he faced while hitting triple digits with his fastball seven times. deGrom, who is recovering from a stress reaction in his right scapula, could be a difference-maker for fantasy managers in the second half.
