Jacob Markstrom Emerging As Starting Goaltender
6 years agoVancouver Canucks goaltender Jacob Markstrom made 28 saves on 30 shots for a .933 save percentage in the 3-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings. It's worth noting that the Canucks lost in a shootout, hence why he only allowed two. Markstrom has been quite the inconsistent fellow as in his last seven starts, he's put up five starts above a .920 save percentage, and two below a .875 SV%. While his job is nowhere near safe, he's managed to start the last five games, racking up three wins in that time span. He now improves to a 6-3-1 record with a 3.12 GAA and a .902 SV%. He should only be owned in deep formats until he starts to develop some consistency with his start counts and his on-ice performances.
