JaCoby Jones Takes a Fastball to the Head, Stays In the Game
4 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder JaCoby Jones was hit in the head by a 93 mph fastball in the third inning of Tuesday’s game but remained in the game. Jones came into Tuesday’s game on a tear with a 1.143 OPS over his first four games, and he’ll try to maintain his hot streak through the season. A popular breakout candidate coming into the year, Jones boasts solid power and developing contact skills, and as long as there are no long-term effects of Tuesday’s hit-by-pitch then he should continue playing well this year. If Jones is forced to miss any time, then Victor Reyes is likely to take over in the Detroit outfield.
