Jaguars Exercise Josh Allen's Fifth-Year Option
3 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars exercised defensive end/outside linebacker Josh Allen's fifth-year option on Thursday. The former seventh overall pick in 2019 out of Kentucky has been pretty solid in his first three NFL seasons. He had his best overall season in 2021, recording a career-high 71 tackles (46 solo), 12 tackles for loss, 14 QB hits, 7.5 sacks, one interception, four passes defensed, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in 16 games (15 starts). The 24-year-old made the Pro Bowl in his rookie season with 10.5 sacks, and he has 20.5 sacks in his first three seasons. Allen could just be getting started, and he finished last year as the No. 8 fantasy defensive lineman in IDP formats.
