6 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jaime Garcia was not a recommended fantasy play on Tuesday against the Atlanta Braves, and his performance certainly justified the hesitation. Garcia lasted only three innings, allowing five earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out only two. The long ball was Garcia’s downfall in this one, allowing one each to Braves outfielder Charlie Culberson and third baseman Johan Camargo. After yet another terrible outing, Garcia owns a 6.16 ERA and 1.61 WHIP across 61 1/3 innings pitched this season. It’s possible he’s the odd man out when Marcus Stroman returns to the rotation this weekend in Los Angeles.--John Smith
