6 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays have placed starting pitcher Jaime Garcia on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to May 16, due to left shoulder inflammation. Garcia has not been very good this season, particularly in his last start on Tuesday against the New York Mets when he allowed six earned runs on six hits and three walks across only 3 2/3 innings pitched. With a poor 6.28 ERA and 1.66 WHIP on the year, it’s possible that this is simply a “get-right” trip to the disabled list for Garcia, but who knows. In a corresponding transaction, Toronto has recalled Deck McGuire, who will take up Garcia’s rotation spot for now. There’s no fantasy value there.--John Smith
