4 years agoColorado Rockies right-handed pitcher Jairo Diaz stepped into the closer's role Sunday and notched his first save of 2020 in Wade Davis’ absence. The closer’s spot in Colorado has been contentious since Davis’ arrival and subsequent decline in production, but Diaz has now worked 4 ⅓ scoreless innings this year and could be in line to take over the job. With saves up for grabs in Colorado with Davis on the injured list, owners can tentatively begin targeting Diaz with the caveat of noting that he’ll have to weather Coors Field to lock down many of said save chances.--Jesse Borek
