4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies right-handed pitcher Jake Arrieta (hamstring) figured that he would need a stint on the injured list due to the right hamstring strain that he sustained Tuesday, and that was confirmed Wednesday when the team placed him on the 10-day IL, recalling righty Connor Brogdon to take his spot on the active roster. The move effectively ends Arrieta's regular season, with a potential playoff return on the table if the Phillies advance. Arrieta’s tenure in Philadelphia has not been conducive to widespread season-long fantasy rostering, as he compiled a 5.08 ERA and 1.51 WHIP in nine starts with the club this season.--Jesse Borek
