Jake Arrieta Leaves Start With Shoulder Stiffness
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jake Arrieta experienced shoulder stiffness in his Spring Training start vs the Rays Thursday. Arrieta said it is not an injury, and that he isn't concerned. Arrieta will have plenty of time to rest up with MLB suspending Spring Training amid coronavirus fears, but he won't be a very attractive fantasy option when baseball does resume. The veteran righty pitched to a 4.64 ERA last season with a 4.89 FIP and hasn't averaged more than a strikeout per innings since 2015. His fantasy value at this stage of his career is limited to very deep leagues or NL-Only formats.
