5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jake Arrieta allowed one run in five innings while taking a no-decision Sunday against the Nationals. Arrieta allowed four hits and two walks while striking out two batters on 88 pitches. Today was a welcome sight for fantasy owners as Arrieta had allowed at least four runs in each of his previous starts pitching with a bone spur in his elbow. The Phillies are likely to manage Arrieta's pitch count as they did today so it is unlikely Arrieta pitches deep into many games making him someone that does not need to be owned in standard size mixed-leagues. Assuming his elbow feels fine, he'll have deep league streamer appeal next time out Friday in Pittsburgh.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
