6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jake Arrieta gave up four earned runs in six innings while taking the loss to the Brewers Wednesday night. He struck out five but walked four in the contest. This is now back to back outings giving up four earned runs for Arrieta who hasn't won a game since April 17. Despite the name recognition, Arrieta is simply no longer a must-own player in fantasy. His 36.2 percent hard contact rate against is the highest of his career. This would be fine if he avoided giving up contact but he strikes out less than 20 percent of batters he faces and his swinging strike rate is below eight percent for the second year in a row. Arrieta is best left on the bench in his next start at the Cubs.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
