Jake Arrieta Struggles With Control Wednesday
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jake Arrieta allowed four runs in 4 2/3 innings pitched in a loss to the Red Sox Wednesday. Arrieta uncharacteristically struggled with his control as he allowed four walks, two more than his season-total coming into the game. The veteran right-hander only struck out three, but that's normal for Arrieta at this stage in his career as he's struck out less than 7.5 K/9 in two-straight seasons which limits his fantasy upside. Simply put, if Arrieta isn't limiting runs then he won't be useful in fantasy. Arrieta is best left on waivers ahead of a difficult matchup with Washington.
