6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jake Arrieta posted a quality start but wound up taking the loss on a rain-soaked night in New York. Arrieta struck out seven in the contest and has now delivered a quality start in all five of his starts this season. Despite the good numbers, the peripheral stats tell a different story. A .239 BABIP and an 84.8 percent strand rate suggest some regression may be coming as both numbers normalize towards his career averages. Now may be a good time for fantasy owners to try and sell high on Arrieta if other owners look at his 2.65 ERA instead of his FIP, which is much worse at 4.48. All that being said, Arrieta will still be a must-start pitcher in his next matchup this weekend in Miami.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
